George Washington February 22, 1732 to December 14, 1799 in Mount Vernon, Virginia
Terms of Office: April 30th, 1789 – 1792 and 1792 - March 1797
Vice President: John Adams 1789 - 1792 and 1792 – 1797
Political Party: Neutral (Favored the Federalist) Thesis George Washington was very patriotic and loved serving for his country. He was the very first official United States president and I believe that the job he did as president deserves an A+. Most of the fame that he received was the part he played in the creation and signing of the Declaration of Independence, as well as his devotion to the military arts as well as western expansion which equipped him with the qualities that the United States needed at the time a person who was keen on military brilliance as well as a thirst for more land to expand the reach of the United States. These attributes are what lead to his various victories over the years some of the most memorable are his victory of Cornwallis at Yorktown. Goals
I believe by looking into Washington’s younger year’s one can than get a better understanding of who he was and why he was an “A” grade material president. Of the people that knew Washington it was said that he was “First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen”Rediscovering George Washington (n.d ). His strive for military brilliance is what led to the many victories that occurred during the revolutionary war. So, as years have gone by generations give thanks to the military brilliance and excellence that Washington achieved over the years of his life. For if not for his military brilliance, there would have never even been a first president because America would have lost the war for freedom. He was considered the best candidate by far as the first president because of his victories within the French and Indian War without him that battle as well would’ve been lost. His goal in life was to better America so that all who lived there could be happy and prosperous for many generations to come. That goal was realized and then some which is what lead to him being one of the most influential president’s in history, in any case if it were not for Washington’s determination to complete his goal America would not be as it is today. President and Congress
In a valedictory address sent from friends of Washington that they apologize for causing him to leave the happiness and bliss he would receive for retirement and yet again come back to the ocean that is public life meaning Washington did not want to come back Washington craved retirement but because of his patriotism he endured for another 8 years of his life. As for his relationship with congress Washington was neutral to all parties, yes he leaned in favor of others at time but for the most part he kept in the middle as type of counterweight so if favor leaned in the way of one party instead of equally between both he would be there to keep order. Some of the more major things he did within congress would be the act that is still around to this day the one that had established judicial courts used today the civil court, federal court as well as the Supreme Court. Washington was a very influential man in congress mainly for his reputation most of the time congress leaned in favor of his recommendations and actions because of how patriotic he was. For people knew he did not want to be there so by him even becoming president it was understood he would rather serve and protect his country than rather have his own happiness and peace of mind. President and Administration, and Good and Bad Outcomes
After Washington had been sworn into office, he started his presidency off to a shaky start for there were many problems in America. He also created the cabinets in which he would choose whom would fill the executive, judicial and legislative branches of his administration they would work under him giving him advice and help when necessary as well as keeping order within the colonies causing some stability to form with America. Some of the key players and better decisions that Washington made that played a major part in his administration were Thomas Jefferson and Colonel Alexander Hamilton. Their personal views caused Washington to stay neutral as a way of making sure the balance was kept and the public good stayed always in sight as well as his mind. Some of his more bad outcomes were also allowing them to be a part of his administration, because they were both a part of separate factions so they would always “bump heads” causing Washington to make choices that didn’t always follow his heart because if he chose the wrong thing one of the two major factions will be made at him and he will lose some strength he had within that faction. So, either Washington was in trouble his main problems came when he sided with the known back then as Hamiltonians it the angered the followers of Thomas Jefferson who were known as the Jeffersonian and caused various attacks on him by the Jeffersonian Democratic-Republicans. The Affects of Washington's Campaign
Washington’s decision made a major impact on the future in many ways, some of these ways include our actual branches of government that are used today that have been passed down since 1789 which have kept order within America. If it were not for Washington there would be no Bill of Rights for his prestige and reputation his few contributions were enough for the passing of the bill. So as far as his influence on the future in all ways it was very good most of the systems we use today derive from when Washington was in office the only difference is that there have been improvements but other than that the things Washington created are still around and will always be around so if not for him there would be no government there possibly, may have not been an America for all to live in if it were not for Washington his patriotism and love for his country trail blazed the way for 200 years of prosperity and happiness that has lived on till today. Conclusion
When the end of Washington’s presidency came near, many things had been accomplished he had set up the very foundation on which the government of today is based. Also, He was one of the most influential players in the founding of our nation and without him there may have never been an America, so on the grounds of why he deserved an A+ it is very evident that without him a lot of the necessities that are around today can be thanks to Washington because he set the path he is what brought the colonies together and through him the colonies thrived as new leaders took up the mantle to try and improve on his method’s.
